If you continue to receive the above prompt message, continue to select Yes and check for spelling errors in either the Host Name, User Name or Password fields for both Incoming and Outgoing settings.
This process may take a few minutes.
When the verification process has completed you should see a screen with your account. You should be set, but let’s verify everything took as intended to insure mail will flow properly.
Click your account.
Scroll down and click the SMTP button under Outgoing Mail Server
Click the button under Primary Server
Verify the following:
- Server is ON
- Host Name is mail.yoursitecontrolpanel.com
- User Name is your full email address
- Password is filled in
- Use SSL is OFF
- Authentication is Password
- Server Port is 25 or 2525
Everything should be fine, but you may need to change the Server Port from 587 to 25 or 2525. Our mail server accepts requests through port 25 (industry standard) and port 2525 in the event your internet provider (whether over WIFI or 3G/4G) blocks port 25. Many ISP (Internet Service Providers) block sending mail over port 2525 for security and SPAM related reasons. Check with your ISP if you have any problems sending mail.
Lastly, since you are on a mobile device you may or may not want to delete the messages off the server when you delete them from your phone. To adjust this go to your account, scroll down to Advanced. From here you can adjust the Delete from server option.
- Never - Use this option if you want to delete messages from your phone, but leave them on the server so you can pull them down from your computer’s email client (Outlook, Thunderbird, etc)
- Seven days – Use this option if you want to let messages deleted from your phone to live on the server for 7 days. After 7 days, deleted messages on your phone will be deleted from the server.
- When removed from Inbox – Use this if you want the message to be immediately deleted from the server when you delete it from your phone.
You should be all setup. Now, send yourself a test message and make sure it comes in!
